Interesting Observation

Catholic League president Bill Donohue had an interesting comparison between Gibson's and Richard's racial tirades and Penn's (of Penn and Teller) tarads against Catholics--I will take it one step further Penn Jillette on several occasions has insulted all religion, well all religion that involves the God of Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Moses...

“In other words, racism and anti-Semitism are unacceptable, even when expressed in frustration or when inebriated, but anti-Catholicism is okay, even when expressed repeatedly and done intentionally. The problem here is not with Richards, Gibson or Jillette—the problem is with all the phonies who claim to be horrified by bigotry.”

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wish all a Happy Thanksgiving. My deepest wish is that all have something to be thankful for, and I believe all Americans do.

Like last year I want to share George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving proclamation.
WHEREAS, It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor;

WHEREAS, Both the houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted' for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have show kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

--George Washington - October 3, 1789

Demcrats at it Again---DRAFT, DRAFT....

Wasn't this a bad think in '04? That is right they just implied Republicans were advocates for the draft when in reality it was Democrats--when that little detail was pointed out the "bad thing" just petered out...

Rangel Will Push To Bring Back The Draft

A senior House Democrat said Sunday he will introduce legislation to reinstate the military draft

Saying Good-bye!

...as only Army Special Forces could!

"If you are getting this e-mail, it means that I have passed away," the missive said. "No, it's not a sick Toz joke, but a letter I wanted to write in case this happened."

The Army Special Forces captain, 30, said he would like family and friends to attend his burial at Arlington National Cemetery, "but understand if you can't make it."

The message, distributed by a fellow Green Beret after Toczylowski's family had been notified of his death, added: "There will also be a party in Vegas with a 100k to help pay for travel, room and a party."

Farewell hero!

This is Interesting - NYT

Now we have the New York Times reverses their defense of releasing 'secrect' information!

After pondering for several months, I have decided I was off base. There were reasons to publish the controversial article, but they were slightly outweighed by two factors to which I gave too little emphasis. While it’s a close call now, as it was then, I don’t think the article should have been published.
[...]
I haven’t found any evidence in the intervening months that the surveillance program was illegal under United States laws. Although data-protection authorities in Europe have complained that the formerly secret program violated their rules on privacy, there have been no Times reports of legal action being taken. Data-protection rules are often stricter in Europe than in America, and have been a frequent source of friction.

Of course they buried this in their paper.

...if Democrats call for this man's head! What do you bet they want?

House Intel Committee Chairman Suspends Staffer for Possible Leak

WASHINGTON — A Democratic staff member on the House Intelligence Committee has been suspended by the Republican chairman of that committee over concerns about the leak of a secret intelligence estimate, and political mudslinging has become a central part of the investigation into the security breach. The unidentified staff member is Larry Hanauer, FOX News learned Friday. Chairman Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., suspended Hanauer earlier this week and won't allow him access to classified information until a review can be completed, said Jamal Ware, Hoekstra's spokesman

All Foley has to Do..

...is become a democrat and as Eric Fettmann points out, his atrocious deeds will be forgiven.
The Massachusetts Democrat is being hailed by national political leaders, including Ted Kennedy and John Kerry, as a "role model" who "gave a lot of people courage" by coming out of the closet. Yet Studds openly declared his homosexuality only after an investigation revealed he'd had a sexual relationship with a male teenage congressional page and propositioned two others.
